This blog is dedicated to introducing and exploring the fine art medium of digital web comics. In each post, I'll talk about a webcomic that I really enjoy and why I think others should read them.
No, this isn't just so advertising gimmick. It's more of a review column, like the kind you'd see for books or movies in your local newspaper.
Yes, it is subjective and will be based on my personal opinions and tastes.
No, it will not be a soapbox to glorify some and badmouth other webcomic artists. This blog will be a place for informed discussion and criticism of this expanding medium.
To better explain where I'm coming from, a bit about me:
-My name is William Gafford and I ran the Comics Dept. of I-CON for 3 years.
-I personally worked with some of the best talent on the web to bring entertaining and enlightening discussions to convention goers.
-I've studied art, culture, and art history at college and know pedagogical words.
This allows me to approach webcomics in a way that examines their merits critically, yet also gives them the respect that they are due. Webcomics are a fantastic medium, and this blog will endeavor to bring attention to some of the finer examples of this art form.
