Twisted Kaiju Theater

Twisted Kaiju Theater is made and run by writer/artist Sean McGuinness; also known as Shin-Goji in the comic itself. TKT was started on August 11, 2000. The comic features various figures from McGuinness’ Godzilla collection posed in humorous ways with speech bubbles added in. TKT is one the oldest and longest running photo-webcomics.
The early episodes of TKT feature minor posing and almost no digital effects. The early comics are carried primarily on the strength of the jokes and absurdity of the concept.

As time went on, McGuinness would devote time to improve his writing and experiment with more advanced digital tools. The later episodes feature more dynamic posing of the figures as well as high level effects. McGuinness also moved away from simple blank walls to constructed sets, and later to fully rendered backgrounds.

McGuinness’s writing has shown significant evolution over the years. From simple poop jokes, to political satire, to engaging action and horror plotlines, McGuinness has proved himself as a versatile writer.
Even at its darkest moments, Twisted Kaiju Theater is still about “teh funny.” What I believe draws most people back to TKT is its humor. Sean McGuinness has taken Godzilla (the symbol of man’s destructive tendencies and nature’s wrath) and shown us his silly side. In this use of humor side by side city-stomping fury, McGuinness continues to find something to laugh about even in the most unpleasant of times. McGuinness’s sense of humor is the driving force of TKT and is its most valued quality.

Twisted Kaiju Theater is my favorite webcomic, and I thank Sean McGuinness for his fine work and dedication.
Another aspect of TKT is its supply of cheesecake in the form of the Kaiju Girls. The K-Girls are anthromorphized versions of various Japanese movie monsters, created by McGuinness and lovingly brought to life by various high-quality artists. An extra special treat for the fans.

*Twisted Kaiju Theater is copywright Sean McGuinness. Godzilla is copywright Toho Pictures. All other material is copywright their respective owners. I own nothing here, except my own opinion*
